The Fionán Pendant is crafted with inspiration from the elaborate Cross Slab at Kilfountain, located on the Dingle Peninsula. Adorned with the ancient Ogham Alphabet, exquisite La Tena art, and the name Finten, this pendant embodies the powerful energy of Celtic God Oghma, the deity of speech and eloquence. The Ogham script, the first written language of Ireland, consists of up to five lines grouped together and drawn down a central stem-line. Each group represents a different letter and was often used for ceremonial purposes. For a truly personal touch, our skilled artisans can engrave your name or a special word up to 12 characters in the original Ogham script on the back of the pendant. This script, made of linear markings, holds a special significance as it is Ireland's first known written language. To further immerse yourself in the historical significance of this pendant, it comes with a leaflet explaining the origins of thealphabet.
